Louis Vuitton’s Journey to the Moon

Wow.  What a story teller?  I know that Annie Leibovitz is a photographer, but if any old picture’s worth a thousand words… what’s this one worth.  She’s amazing!

Louis Vuitton’s Journey to the Moon

This is the new Louis Vuitton Journeys shot for their Core Values campaign.   Annie took this photo in the desert of California in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of man’s flight to the Moon.  You’ll find Apollo 11’s Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon… and Jim Lovell, who led the harrowing Apollo 13 back in 1970.  Ever see the movie?  Wow.  As commander- Lovell was responsible for his entire crew’s safe return to the earth… and finally, Sally Ride- the first American woman astronaught, a crew member of the Space Shuttle Challenger.

Of course, you’ll find the Louis Vuitton Monogram Icare bag perched on the beatup truck that they’re sitting on.

The really, really amazing part though is all the background stuff.  Louis Vuitton has set up an incredible website called:

Go check it out.  You’ll find Buzz Aldrin, Sally Ride and Jim Lovell and Sally Ride talking about their lifechanging experiences- but it’s the crazy interactive nature of the whole thing that’s so dang cool. You can watch the interviews just like you were right there with them… watching them in the order you pick.  Zoom in or out.  View the one you want, see what the others are doing while one is speaking.

Can’t get enough of this spot.  What do you think???
